Artist History The main feature of Serafino’s productions is his Mediterranean sound, which follows a vocal rhythms similar to funky; everything is also characterised by very elegance melodies that valorise the vocal qualities of the author-singer . 1992: First discographic experience: the magazine “Tourn�e” produces the promotional cd with his “Albaria” enclosed. Serafino made a lot of concerts that were positively reviewed by the journalists of the sector. 1995: In November Serafino’s cd issued ,this album contains the single “Mina vagante”, broadcast on lots of radios. On7th June Serafino exhibited with his band, at the show “Il circo” of Paolo Rossi and on22nd December, he opened the musical Jesus Christ superstar at Smeraldo theatre in Milan . 1996: Serafino conduces, together with Ilaria Paganini, a musical program called Suono vitale destined for a private televisions network. On 24th of December he is protagonist with Gatto Panceri and Brando of an acoustic performance in square Duca D’Aosta ; tg3 proposes an interview to Serafino. In these years Serafino fights together with Mimmo Ferrante against the cultural barriers of which disables are victims. A lot of manifestations are broadcast by the national medias . Ferrante, one of the singer’s best friend, died in December 1996, of a severe form of muscular dystrophy 1997: on 4th December The cd”Provare per credere” is presented, it’s performed and written by Serafino with the musical help of artists like Franca Rame , Paolo Rossi, Claudio Bisio and Pino Scotto; the project is a tribute to Mimmo Ferrante. In the same month the author-singer takes part in“Telethon” (Rai 2)with the song “Mi dichiaro in arresto” and in“Help” of Red Ronnie (TMC2). The review on “Tutto musica e spettacolo” with an interview to Serafino and Paolo Rossi is to be noted. 1998: on 28th January a concert at Palavobis in Milan, welcomed a week of celebrations for Gandhi. In October a program called “Sudando musica begins on cinquestelle network for the south of Italy”, this program talks about travels and aims at discovering new talents in the south of Italy, through this television, they tell about their own artistic lives. Serafino conduces and improvises Jam session with his colleagues… the tune of the program is the song “Mi converto”. On16th December Fuego (Italia 1) presents the preview of the video “Chi mi accompagna?” an exclusive interview to Roberto Baggio is proposed , the player raps with Serafino in a rhythmic and involving song. This initiative is part of a sensitisation campaign promoted by A.N.F.F.A.S. to have the review of a law for people suffering from psychiatric disorders. 1999: On 2nd February the single “Chi mi accompagna” is officially on Sale produced by(RTI) RAI, MEDIASET and lots of private televisions dedicate a large space to this event with a lot of reports; the magazines like TV sorrisi e canzoni and the newspapers like Il Corriere della sera, La repubblica, Il mattino, La stampa and La gazzetta dello sport made a lot of reviews, also thanks to a report made by ANSA. During the 49th Festival of San Remo, on 26th of February Serafino exhibited on concert at the space built by “Video and Radio Italia solo musica italiana” that begins to program by satellite the video with Baggio. In July Serafino is protagonist of a very original event: in Fuscaldo little town in Calabria a real popular petition is promoted in order to ask the local administrators, to organise a concert of the author-singer who will exhibit on 8th August at the crowded promenaded . 2000: From January to May , Serafino is a guest in some of the television program “Casa Mosca” conduced by Maurizio Mosca, Serafino proposes his music with acoustic live performances. On 26th February he’s in San Remo again, as a guest, with his whole band., of San Remo rock Festival. The registrations of new unpublished songs begin and the musician starts a collaboration with the actrice Bedy Moratti whose voice can be heard in the atmosphere song called “Cerco spiegazioni”. At the end of the year Serafino is recognised as the best emergent artist of the Mediterranean music. His unplugged concerts show the versatility and the talent of an artist who begins to be appreciated by famous international artists like Tullio De Piscopo. Serafino in fact begins a collaboration with the Neapolitan drummer singer. He’s co-author of unpublished songs that Tullio will propose in a new production. In Aprica the two artists exhibited in the same stage and they gave off musical energy and pure adrenaline. From 7th May the single “Il mio compare” begins to be broadcast overseas from an American station, radio 740 a.m. of Boston. The same piece reached the top of the special chart issued from the portal www.mp3.it for the high numbers of downloads.
