Artist History
I guess I will tell you a little bit about myself and my musical background. I began playing guitar when I was 16 years old, I bought a nice little acoustic with my birthday money, and it has been very good to me over the years. I use it to write all my songs on and I love to take it outside and play it. Anyhow, I decided that I wanted to learn to play on my own, so for a year and a half I sat in my basement learning chords and tablature off the internet. But after a while I decided that I couldnt learn anymore on my own and so I decided that I wanted to take lessons. I began taking lessons from Paul DePauw in the spring of 1999. After almost 3 years of lessons and expirence in playing many different styles and techniques I finally decided that the music that I was most passionate about was rock. Bands such as the Foo Fighters, Nickelback, Creed, Stone Temple Piolets, Incubus, and Default have been real influences on me. While other individual guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan have influenced my lead work I still feel like my roots lie in rock music. Guitar has really been my passion for the last 4 years and hopefully will continue to be my outlet to expressing my thoughts and emotions. Hopefully someday this will become more than a dream and I will have a chance to live out everything that I have ever hoped for. The one thing that I want is for my music to touch people in a special way, I hope that somwhere someone hears my music and maybe they can relate to my views and thoughts. In the mean time I will continue to strive towards my dream. |
