    Artist description
Dead Reckoning plays a unique style of brutality, blending elements from each member's musical influences. At times vicious assaulting double bass and buzzsawing riffs with gutteral screams, but then releasing melodic harmonies and clean vocals when least suspected. Dead Reckoning fuses some intricate Death/Black Metal style riffing, precision drumming, and a variety of vocal approaches, with stomp your guts out grooves that ignites the pit.

    Artist History
Dead Reckoning is the process of estimating your position by advancing a known position using course, speed, time and distance to be traveled Dead Reckoning was formed in 2001 when misfortune struck co-founding member and guitarist Keith Dungan, who injuring his wrist, was left unable to play for a short time. Due to the injury, he decided to gracefully exit his then current band, Doom Syndicate, with whom he had shared the stage with the likes of Corrosion of Conformity (Columbia Records). With time, the injury to his wrist began to heal, as well his desire to play music. It was in this period, that co-founding member and singer Josh Cahoon was looking to start a band and play original compositions. The two, realizing that the potential regarding a collaboration was great, decided to form a band, that would bring to fruition, their shared musical interest. Keith and Josh then recruited a bass player and a drummer, and began to experiment. After playing together for a short while, it was decided that a second guitarist would be brought in. Enter Billy Moran. Billy had been playing in the Roanoke, Va rock and metal scene for a while, but was not currently playing with a band. He to, had been waiting for the right oppurtunity to bring to the table, his own style and influence to the right band.Playing shows in the area led to a small break, Dead Reckoning as the unit was now known, was booked to open for well known New Jersey harcore act E-Town Concrete(Resurrection AD Records). This led to more shows with well known bands, opening for Hatebreed labelmates RingWorm(Victory Records), and Solid State Records artist Still Breathing. The Band went through a brief retooling period, bringing in drummer Mike Gomez. Dead Reckoning then unleashed some new material when thew were booked to open for Dope (Sony Records), and a Halloween bash with Mortician (Relapse Records). Dead Reckoning combines influences from varied genres in metal. The lyrics are at times insightful, critical, and introspective, with an overall positive context, that will leave those listening seeing from a different perspective.
