Artist History
Gardin - Slowcore band
In the aftermath of leaving previous bands three musicians got together to wear it off really, resulting in some not too bad songs. They caught some of 'em live during a short studio session in May 2000, got more into it and with the help of several additional musicians 'Minor Setbacks', a 10 track cd, was recorded and released in 2001. A limited quantity of 500 pressings saw the light, got distributed by Konkurrent Amsterdam and got great reviews everywhere.
So the press went nuts over it, however due to many many reasons other than music the ongoing of Gardin got postponed up until 2003 when Michel, Jessica and Allan continued Gardin where they left off; working on new songs for a second album, tentatively called "All is calm inside". Performances should commence somewhere towards fall 2003.

Press Reviews
This slowcore band named their debut album after setbacks that occurred during the process of the making of the album: Minor Setbacks. Bad luck or not, Gardin did well. With the moody and autumnal Minor Setbacks the band presents itself as a variant on Low and Red House Painters. Striking are the (grand) piano contributions and some serious guitar eruptions that gives Gardins excellent slowcore Slint-like dynamics. |
