Artist History Alterstate started out as a four piece rock band in Johannesburg South Africa in 1998. After playing more than 550 shows in four years, including various festivals and receiving local and national airplay the band got some recognition from an unlikely source. The American Federation of Musicians recocognized the band as: "Of international quality as performers in the pop/rock field" This motivated Alterstate to bring their music to the U.S. Now based in Atlanta the band has added a fifth member to the linup and is playing gigs in Atlanta.
