Artist History
Gena Mason has lived in New York City, Los Angeles, Paris, Indianapolis, and Chicago. She quickly became a rising rock poetry star in New-York’s avant-scene at the Poetry Project at St. Mark’s Church, often sharing a bill with Patti Smith and Jim Carroll. In 2000 she recorded a demo CD in 12 hours and flew to Los Angeles, there making her club debut at the legendary Roxy Theater. Playing all of the instruments (vocals, guitar, bass, and drum machine), Gena recorded her next CD during the infamous second week of September 2001, in a converted Masonic lodge in Indianapolis. Since her return to Hollywood weeks later, Mason has been writing and recording new material and performing in the area. Recently she has sat in on vocals with Big Money G, featuring Gilby Clarke (Guns N’ Roses) and Clem Burke (Blondie).. |
