Artist History
Emotional, energetic, and melodic are just a few words to describe the hard rocking sound of the Atlanta based band: Style Over Substance. Equipped with an onslaught of powerful songs that peak on one end of the spectrum to the other.
The group formed in Feburary of Nineteen Nintey Nine. Composed of four best friends that share a common passion for creating beautiful music to inspire. David Proctor and George McMullan met in highschool and formed a band with a few other friends. After two years and one E.P. later, the group disbanded. David and George proceeded to write music while looking for a new drummer. The boys finally met up with Jason Pye who filled the much needed position. The band began fresh and wrote all new material. Two E.P's were recorded during the two year period with ex-guitar player: Chad McDonald who left the band to persue personal obligations. Later, the band found guitarist Danny Moore (formery of short drop method). The line-up has never felt so tight.
Together S.o.S plans to spread their positve message to music-lovers all over world, with a live show like no other, filled with pure passion and energy. |

Press Reviews
STYLE OVER SUBSTANCE - "Another Disaster." (radio breakdown) It's hard to find the proper demographic for this band. They're too poppy for punk, to punk to be pop, and not sad enough for the emo kids. In league with bands like Yellowcard, Strung Out, and The Ataris, Atlanta's Style Over Substance have manipulated the more radio-friendly side of the punk rock world, and made something all their own. We're surprised they are not signed to Fat Wreck already. Applause for blending harmonics with a phaser(we think) in "The Firefly." This five song EP has a lot of great dynamic, and the lyrics are coherent, which is great because all of the songs are well written. Good, heartfelt rock n 'roll.
