Artist description
The recipe for this artist is an LL Cool J type of flow, a Tupac Shakur lyrical intensity, an Ozzy Osborne vibe. Combine the political messages reminiscent of Boogie Down Productions and Public Enemy, add the originality of the classical composer Bach, and you have Infamous Houdene. Raised in the tobacco fields of South Carolina, where music was his life and sometimes his only escape, Houdene devoted most of his free time writing rhymes that reflected his reality. This innovative, dark and mythical artist uses his music not only to entertain the listeners but also to inform with political messages important to him. Houdene launched his music career in Idaho where he produced and hosted "In The Mixx", a hip-hop music video show. His talents also led him to create and perform with a group called Dollarz & Dreamz under the alias Flatline. Houdene's interest in music led him to a profession of not only writing but speaking out about political issues. On July 1, 2000 Infamous Houdene marched with the NAACP to protest the confederate flag. Realizing that he needed to take his music further, Houdene left the small town life for the big city. Houdene relocated to Los Angeles where, using his talent and originality, wrote and produced the debut album, "The Servant of None". |

Press Reviews
"… (Houdene) succeeds at making a modern day hip-hop album that grooves without using samples. The first track, 'I'll Never Get To Heaven" is the stand-out song. 'Santa Didn't Bring Me Nuttin' is a sure crowd pleaser …"-MusicBiz Magazine"Armed with original beats and sounds, this is not your user-friendly Puff Daddy album chock-full of samples from songs … in some ways this is a throwback to what hip-hop records used to sound like." Listen.com: The revolution may not be televised, but it may very well be fueled by Old School rhyming. Infamous Houdene preaches social upheaval over breaker-ready drum tracks and the sounds of soldiers marching to war. - Alex H. |
