    Artist History
It's been raining singer/songwriters lately, and Ciano Maes has splashed on to the scene with a fresh new flavor. The Albuquerque, New Mexico native is somewhat of a prodigy, having taught himself how to play drums by the time he was 11; and guitar by 13. In highschool, Ciano performed in several talent shows which thrust him out from behind his drumkit into the spotlight as a singer songwriter. That taste of the limelight was enough to start Ciano on his way, and from there he began honing his writing and singing skills. After a brief stint on tour with a cover band, Ciano moved to LA to attend Musician’s Institute and began playing regular stints on the club scene. There, he caught the attention of Hollywood producers, publishing companies and local radio. Ciano was asked to perform and record demos to be considered for soundtrack material and has had songs recorded & published by other recording artists. Needing to focus on his songwriting and not that of the industry, Ciano moved back to New Mexico to build his studio and fine tune the creative process. In the midst of all this, Ciano has been scouted by several record companies but says, “I’m just looking for the right offer. It needs to be a relationship. It needs to be about the integrity of the songs and selling great records.” Ciano is actively producing artists - as well as writing songs and playing most of the instruments for his forthcoming CD. Those close to the project are offering much praise. It may take the public audience a little while to get there hands on a copy of it, but Ciano is fast becoming the Next Big Thing and record companies are taking notice…

"In a world of pop icons and flavors-of-the-month, popular music has lost much of its meaning. Today's music is too often drowning in cynicism and grandiosity. Ciano's music embodies modern colors and is also tempered with the familiar sounds of pop structures. With influences ranging from The Blue Nile to Seal and Kenny Loggins, Ciano has set out to paint a musical tapestry that is colored by buttery acoustic sounds, warm electronic textures, infectious melodies and, of course, his signature voice." + Transmission Magazine "What comes through strongest are sincere feelings-sweet, hurt, wistful-that tend to sneak up on you through repeat listens. Now, let your mind and soul wander through Ciano's melodic maze...don't forget to bring your heart along too!" + Mic Line Magazine
