    Artist History
Jolibob Newton Half finish half Swede, a guitarist virtuoso, songwriter and a helluva guy. This young titans history is filled with up and downs. Growing up in a rough neighborhood suburb to Gothenburg, jolibob was the youngest of 3 brothers. His mum had a tough time providing for these wild youngsters. Since Jolibob was the youngest he often got his share of whopping, and a seed of frustration was planted, frustration not only of being the smallest and poorest in the neighborhood, but a frustration of being so far from the good life. You could say he got a bit of the eye of the tiger, I’m a tank mentality from all this shit happening, that’s when he decided: I’m gonna to be a rock star. And from that day on jolibob was determined to change his life. Jolibob took practicing seriously and after a couple of years of hard work he had became a skilled instrumentalist. Now when the guitar was a part of his body and mind he could start exploring the world of songwriting. Jolibob joined several bands in hope of world domination, worked hard in smoky nightclubs and other joints for years trying to climb up the ladder of success, in fact he’s still working his ass of to get there. But it was first when he met Jor-el Sacramento things fell into place, that’s when sponge was formed, the most incredible band of all times yet unknown to mankind (unfortunately). Jolibob Newton had found a path he could walk for a long time Jor-el Sacramento The Jewish Hillbilly Jor-el Sacramento was born in Bat-Yam somewhere in the holy land (not so holy anymore) in the early 70’s. His father was a musician trying to make a living playing French/Italian love songs in local pubs, and his mum were picking oranges at the time. At the age of 2 (or something) Jor-el left for Sweden highly focused on becoming a great man…. actually. Therefore his mum for the sake of his minds development decided to move to Anneberg a lovely little village outside of nowhere. Yes we all know it sounds like hell on earth, and it was. Surrounded only with forest and mushrooms and shit like that Jor-el had only one choice that was to get the hell out of there while his mind was still young and fresh. Unfortunately he lingered on for several years in this not by god formed landscape, and his mind was bitterer and his soul was blacker than ever. So to pick up an instrument and start making tunes made a lot of sense at the time. It was the road to happiness music; the universal language had touched him in a way that was indescribable. Jor-el had started a journey that came to form him as a man and artist. After several years of hard work in different bands etc he formed the band Sponge together with his writing college Jolibob Newton. This is the road he is traveling now.
