Artist description
According to Webster, the word "catalyst" is defined as "an agent that provokes or speeds significant change or action." On show nights, it doesn't take the band Catalyst Theory long to live up to its name. The band plays, the crowd starts to move. Fueled by textured guitar riffs and emotion-driven vocals, the new rock/metal band deftly fuses a diverse variety of musical styles to put together its high-energy show. In a little more than a year, band members Kevin (vocals), Chris (lead guitar), Tommy (bass) and Terry (drums) have taken four diverse backgrounds and melded them into a unique sound and chemistry. Their one shared interest of previous music theory training is evident by a rich, technically polished sound. This young band - all four members are under 24 and still budding creatively - should continue to grow as they learn to feel each other out musically. Their 3-song EP "Free" is a testament to their flexibility and range, and their soon expected first full-length CD should only expand on that. This is definitely a band worth checking out, and one that maybe someday you'll be claiming you knew way back when.
