Artist History
Deryn Yuill and JdC have been performing together since 1995, when they were studying Music together at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa.
They made their cabaret debut at the Nico Malan Opera House in December 1998, where they accompanied French singer and actress, Daniele Pascal, for her show, Love and Opium.
In 1999 they set up a music company, Sonik Innovations that was dedicated to the promotion and production of fresh and different music concerts and theatrical events.
Their productions of Tango and Around the World in 18 Songs were performed in all the major theatres, concert halls, art galleries, museums, restaurants, bars and music societies throughout South Africa, and received rave reviews from the press and audiences alike.
The new millennium saw the duo move to London where JdC has been working mostly as a freelance composer, music producer, and dance music remixer. Some of his dance music has been used for the television series Free Spirit.
Deryn Yuill has been working as a freelance session and orchestral player. She has performed with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, the National Musicians Symphony Orchestra, and the London Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and the London Sinfonia, as well as the Status Symbol, Giardino and Lullingstone string quartets.
Deryn also plays electric cello for the rock band, James Thorn, which has appeared at the Cashmere Club and the Borderline.
