Artist description
Glen's style varies from heavy to melodic. His compositions are performed on the guitar and Chapman stick in a number of open tunings and time signatures. Glen grew up listening to late 60's and 70's rock music, but later became arware of Jazz artists such as Miles Davis, John Mcglaughlin and Pat Metheny.
This interest led him to enrol in an Associate diploma of Jazz studies. After compling this course Glen continued to fuse Rock with Jazz but also to go back further to learn more about Delta and Chicago Blues, Indian and Gaelic folk styles. It has taken Glen 20 years to incorperate these
techniques and concepts into his style. As well as composition Glen has been obsessed with improvisation and technique, His compositions are melodic and rhythmically driven. He likes to perform both on his own and in 3 piece band formats.
Learning more about these styles of music led Glen to experiment with
various instruments and designs
