Artist description
I'm a solo-artist who plays acoustic guitar. I describe my sound as "Strike Pop," because you'll never leave one of my songs without having something to hold on to. There will always be at least one section that will inspire you, provoke you, or at least strike you in some way. My primary focus will always be on the stand alone strength of my songs. I want to be the best at what I do, because I believe in the healing powers of music. The way it can transform a simple room into a palace. There's nothing like music, to me. In the end, I want to be able to hear someone say to me, "Brian, I want to thank you. That song _____ really helped me get through a hard time," or "that song of yours ______ always takes me away to a better place." And because of these sentiments, I will never stop writing music. Yours Always,Brian |

Artist History
Born in 1977 the son of an Air Force Intelligence Officer and a Nurse, Brian began to fumble through life. From the Unremembered Days of North Dakota to the Magical Days of Chelmsford, Massachussetts, where his brother was born in 1982, to the Wonderful Days in Davidsonville, Maryland, to the Awakening Days in Wassenaar, the Netherlands, to the Trying Days in Niceville, Florida, to the Exciting College Days in Tampa, Florida, to the current, Uncertain Days in, Anywhere I Happen To Be,The World, Brian picked up a lot of laughs, a lot of friends, and a lot of baggage. His musical influences as a child, thanks to his mother, were Jim Croce, Michael MacDonald, Peter, Paul and Mary and he can still smell the pot roast cooking while listening to Jesus Christ Superstar. Something about that record would change him forever. The blatant, raw emotion captivated Brian, in a way that only Les Miserable would be able to in the future. But, at the time, it was the music group Chicago that got Brian singin'. Somehow, he was always drawn to the sadder, slower, soaring melodies more so than anything else. He recieved his first guitar at age 12 and didn't touch it much. There was always a piano around, but he only touch that a couple times, too. Discipline always took a back seat to fun in Brians book. He was always outside doing something. Building forts, playing with friends, playing soccer, going surfing, biking around, whatever. It wasn't until after his most unenjoyable high school experience when he began to experiment with the keys and strings a bit more. He joined show choir groups, madrigal groups, barber shop quartets, jazz bands and performed in many musicals, but he always returned to the music. That's when he began to pen his first songs. He wanted to make the music. A little behind the game, he applied to the University of South Florida and entered on a Vocal Scholarship, being expected to graduate with a Vocal Performance degree; but Brian had something else in mind. He wanted to learn more about writing music, so he snuck his way in the back door of the Composition Program. He wrote scores for a couple plays in his Senior years, the entire time finishing up his Musical, which we cannot name. After graduating in May of 2001, he went to Europe with his brother for an amazing 1 month tour. He returned to put the finishing touches on his show and moved to Orlando, Florida, late 2001. He worked odd jobs and wrote songs, but it wasn't what he thought it would be. He auditioned for several theme parks, but his dancing was not exactly... Baroshnikov, or however you spell it. He returned to Niceville to gather himself and decide exactly what he wanted. He worked as a video editor, camera operator, production assistant and a jingle writer for a local TV station, and in September, after working Seussical the Musical for a couple weeks, he decided to move to NY to pursue a career as a songwriter. And here we stand... (you're not smiling, but that's mildly humorous is because that's the name of one of his songs, but you don't know it yet, so, nevermind.) Keep checking back to hear new releases from this passionate and ambitious lover's bedroom. |
