Artist description
DOVE was a Christian music band that existed from
roughly 1983 till about 1990. The first few songs
we recorded were pretty much acoustic. However,
(like Bob Dylan), we went electric, and added
keyboards later! |

Artist History
Tim Love became friends with Charles Bailey (then
known as Charley Ream), in High School. Charley
introduced Tim to the Christian Music scene. Tim
was already a musician and had performed in
several bands. Tim left his band Caution to form
DOVE. He originally did so with the intention of
making a Christian Rock Band. HOWEVER, the church
Tim & Charley were attendin at the time, pretty
much believed Rock & Roll (especially Christian
Rock & Roll) was of the devil. So, they decided a
nice Christian Folk band might be a nice
alternative. They took on friend, and Bass Player
Don Winters and their original drummer Nate Jordan.
People still seemed to be offended, so Tim decided
to just write what he liked to write and not worry
about what everyone else wanted. This DID improve
the quality of the writing, and the band improved
as well. We replaced Nate with Jeff Phillips (the
youth pastor at our church). Once again the band
improved. Toward the end of their musical
partnership, Tim wrote a few songs for (and with),
Tina Winters (Don's wife). He figured, she could
open for DOVE. That would have been fine except
everyone enjoyed her act better. DOVE broke up
as we all grew up and older. Tim still writes his
own stuff which you can hear at: http://mp3.com/Tim_Love |
