Artist History
Onion Jack happily defy genre. Formed by brothers Daniel and Pete Vincent in 2001, they set out to make "music we'd actually want to listen to".
So far the band have produced an eclectic mix of songs, from the acoustically delicate just another via the trance-inspired trip that is fridaynightsaturdaymorning to the dark industrially-tinged zero zero one.
Onion Jack released their first CDR in 2002, entitled Burning Onion Jack, which showcased 10 of Daniel's original demos. This was accompanied by the 5-track The Onion Jam EP, which was recorded in the week following Burning Onion Jack's release. Recalls Daniel: "... there was a real buzz that we'd got as far as producing a CD to show for our efforts. The Onion Jam EP was a reflection on that: I doubt we'll being knocking stuff out quite that quickly again ..."
Subsequent songs have been released via MP3.com, where a collection of new tracks and selected tracks from The Onion Jam EP is available to buy as an MP3 CD, alongside a remastered and sonically improved re-release of Burning Onion Jack.
The brothers have since been joined by a drummer and are preparing for their live debut in the near future. |
