Artist History Jack MacNab was born January 5, 1951 in the small village of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, Canada. The home province of the legendary Country & Western singers, Wilf Carter and Hank Snow. Hank Williams died two years later on January 1, 1953 at the young age of 29. Jack was raised in Truro, Nova Scotia, where he later raised his own family. Jack became a well-known amateur archeologist in the Halifax/Bedford area (Nova Scotia) during the early 90’s. While living in Abbotsford, BC during the late 90’s, Jack started picking away at old Hank tunes. From there he moved to Ottawa, Ontario where he sang at Carleton University and many bars and nightclubs of the inner city. During a radio interview on CKCU, he met up with Richard DeFazio who invited him to team up with his group called “Lonesome Grandpa And His Grannies Off Their Rockers”. They traveled together for a couple of years singing to the old timers of the city. Jacks’ first CD release is a collage of old time Hank Williams songs. The first one on the CD was never recorded before. Sit back and enjoy some old Hank Williams favorites.
