Artist History
Expression of Interest are a brand new Melbourne band formed with artists from around the country. An all original outfit with a sincere hard edge style ready to be unleashed on the Melbourne streets.
After an improvised set at the last ‘Mudfest’, Mission Beach, Nth.Qld. late in 1999 a natural chemistry was recognized between the vocalist(Rob Staines), bass player(Ryan Wilson) and the guitarist(James Bryce)
whom had all been looking for such a project. ‘Ribbed for Pleasure’ was formed and went from strength to strength to become one of north queensland’s most widely known and respected original acts.
‘Ribbed for Pleasure’ supported ‘Grinspoon’, ‘Jebediah’ and ‘Seven’ on their most recent far northern tours. Headlining the local band stage at ‘Wicked 2001’ they supported ’28 Days’, ‘The Superjesus’ and ‘The Cruel Sea’. At ‘Wicked 2000’: ‘Powderfinger’, ‘Shihad’(now ‘Pacifier’) and ‘Killing Heidi’. At ‘LDO 2001’ : ‘Nokturnl’ and ‘MC Trey’ with Rob Staines being invited to perform live with both. At ‘LDO 2000’
they supported ‘Sunk Loto’ and at ‘LDO 1999’: ‘The Testeagles’.
With this under their belt ‘Ribbed for Pleasure’ headed for the
big city lights of Melbourne. Procuring a new drummer(Matt Clarke)
finally got the wind behind a name change and ‘Expression of Interest’ was spawned.
