Artist History
E.X.O is a (USA) Philly based band, formed in the depths of suburbia, by Augustus Roszko (vocals/guitar), Frank Lanigan (guitar) and Paul Augustine (percs).
There debut live EP was released in 2002,
establishing their schizophrenic prog rock, experimental based approach.
E.X.O preferred to take an artistic standpoint, creating music interesting to the musician and earful to common folk. With multiple personality, cryptic style lyrics and exotic rhythms, they have a less "Pigeon-Holed" sense of freedom. Most of the artwork has an underlying scheme of birth, portraying images of sperm, eggs and fetus, for example the cover art often mistaken for an eclipsed sun is a female egg surrounded by sperm. Live performances consist of an Audio-Visual experience comparable to Pink Floyds (The Wall) and an underground rave scene. They take full advantage of the G4 power book and v.j. software (Video Scratching) with real-time mixing and projection of Visuals. Geared more to the "OPEN MINDED" listener, E.X.O is a breath of fresh air.
Striving to recondition the ear, the arrangements in the songs seem radical but still flow with momentum.
With total musical freedom as the core, E.X.O finds themselves curiously awaiting where the music will take them.
