Artist History
Westfalia is an Indie/Emo band out of Chapel Hill, NC. The group has it's roots in a band called Straight No Chaser. Josh (vocals/guitars) and Joe (Bass/Drums) began recording some demos at their house in early 2001, then employed the help of their friend Robert Britt (violin), making the band complete. The group recorded a lo-fi cassette that they sold at local shows. after more and more shows, drummer Jonathan Schwartz (Deluge) joined the band and, and they recorded a self titled EP, and a full-length, "Hold Still...". just as the group's lp came out, the band went under a line-up change. Jon left the band, Britt was joined the bluegrass band Open Road (www.openroadbluegrass.com) based in Colorado, and Josh and Joe currently attend UNC-G. Josh, Joe, and Britt have just finished their second full length with Vibrant Green's Tunnell brothers recording it. Expect the album out Spring 2003. Josh and Joe both formerly played in Straight No Chaser and currently play in Mortar and Pestle. http://expage.com/trekkyrecords |
