Artist History
The Mansfield Rack began in the Spring of 2000. Chris Worden and Matt Worden (of no familial relation; the surnames are simply a coincidence) - who had been playing together for roughly a year - recruited Matt Kocal (initially saxophone only, soon adding electric bass) and, subsequently, his friend Neil Monkhouse (percussion). After taking the time to assemble some songs, the band played the first of a series of concerts in November of 2000.
A line-up change in 2001 incorporated Tom Hewer as an additional guitarist. After a year, Tom left and was replaced by Julia Perry as bassist, with Matt Kocal taking on the role of guitarist alongside Matt Worden. The summer of 2002 saw the departure of Neil Monkhouse, which the band remedied by constructing its own percussion instruments (drum kits are expensive).
We are currently experimenting and working on new recordings.
