Artist description
My real name is Dan Brakeley. My nick, Naibas, is Sabian spelled backwards, which was my cymbal brand of choice back when I had my drum set. I first used naibas as a password on some BBS's in my home state of Maine, but I decided it would make for an original and interesting username. To this day, it has the benefit of almost never being taken when creating accounts with various online services... :) |

Artist History
I'm a computer programmer who has been interested in making music since I saw my frist demo. I'm a huge future crew (and by exension Remedy Entertainment) fan, and started out tracking on Scream Tracker (I have some tunes up that were originally s3m's). I took some music theory in high school (mostly jazz theory), and I've been playing percussion with school bands since 6th grade. I also have had a few years of private drum lessons, and some self taught guitar. More recently I've been messing around with keys, but I haven't pursued any of it very seriously since most of my time is spent at school (DigiPen, www.digipen.edu) making video games. I hope to make money as a programmer, not a musician, so updates will probably come few and far between. |

Instruments
At first, Scream Tracker, then ModPlug Tracker, then the general midi on my old Yamaha DTX2 drum machine (that was part of my once glorious electronic drum set), then my SoundBlaster Live with free soundfonts, and finally an Alesis QS6.1 (Which I do most of my work with, using Cakewalk Music Creator for the sequencing, mixing, and effects). |
