Artist description Dahrius, planted and raised in Memphis, TN, is a band whose sound is as much a result of their hometown roots as their broad musical interest. Don’t be surprised to hear Dahrius drop a Memphis-influenced heavy blues riff, and drench it in a filthy, juicy jambalaya of latin grooves coming from the sticks, skins, and bass. The band started playing as Dahrius around 1996, but the individual players have been making music together on Memphis stages since they were old enough to get into all-ages shows. Many honest musical perspectives came together as they grew up in this city’s eclectic, vibrant music scene. They found themselves gaining experience and perfecting their good-time vibe while playing live everywhere from Beale Street stages to backyard parties. Recently, Dahrius recorded and independently released their debut studio CD The Good Life. Lifelong musical partnerships and regular live performances have contributed to a studio recording that feels as improvisational as their live shows but showcases their strong songwriting abilities.
