Artist History
Brian Bonz started writing his own songs in 1999, and went from there to playing open mics in dark cafes with brooding patrons all over the tri-state area.
He is a mix between Swedish, and a Puerto Rican family. When he was a kid, His ears were filled with all kinds of odd music. He started his solo career in
late 1999. He released on Windfish Records his first demo, "Another Object" who never released it due to legal problems. The demo just featured simple
guitar work, and vocals. After awhile he ran himself into a new sound. He has a completely different style with a loop/sampler for his live act. Brian plays
an an acoustic guitar but somehow, with the help of his machines, manages to sound like a whole band. His sound is mature and reminiscent of the
modern singer/songwriters like Elliot Smith, David Gary, and Joseph Arthur. He is not your average everyday singer/songwriter trying to sing a some love
song. The innovative style of this young singer/songwritter has landed him on Cosmo Girl magazine, and Hunter College radio with 650 kids listening.
Bonz is well known around park slope through his music, and tight crowds. He is currently working on a new cd entitled "Sunday Theory". His single off
the cd, "Driving Home" has been played over college radio in NYC, and Canada. The work is all fresh, and indepth with the help of his studio band. Brian
will soon be on the rise like such artist as Ari Hest, and Robert Matarazzo. |
