With two acoustic guitar weilding frontmen, and one funkadelically ripped lead guitarist, Stop Pretending embraces a unique sound, with acoustic emo - punk overtones and folk / jam rock influences. Modern emo music can sometimes be overwhelmed with sentimentality, but Stop Pretending's blend of emotional rock and catchy punk provides an excellent balance, easy to jam out to, but full of meaningful lyrics and pure emotion.

Artist History One day, Evan Merrill was walking, guitar in hand, along the beaches of Santa Monica, CA. While Evan was busy pondering his breakthrough theories in the field of astrophysics, he became immersed in thought. Distracted by his own self glory, he accidently tripped over a couple in the sand, lying in a lusty embrace. Chris Nagengast, a true gentlemen at heart, got off of Andrew's mom and introduced himself. In talking, the two realized that between their combined talent, their love of the waves, and Chris' graduate degree in ancient sanskrit, they could make it big in the music business. They decided to give up the surfing life and enroll in a small college in the middle of the woods of western Pennsylvania. It was here that they could concentrate on meditation and songwriting. While enrolled at Allegheny, Chris and Evan were involved in a nasty confrontation with some local townsfolk. Luckily, Kyle Peters, guitarist and 3rd degree black belt, was walking by. Kyle not only saved the day, but offered his supreme talent in making the newly formed Stop Pretending rock massive hard. After playing small gigs in half-empty gay bars for months, Stop Pretending got their major break when Chris and Evan muscled their way into DJ positions at the local radio station. Now, Stop Pretending is on the loose and ready to sex you down. Keep it loud, and enjoy the music.
