Artist description
Well, this is me. I'm no Dave Brubeck, David Sandborn, Cannonball Adderley, or Kenny G - I'm just me. My cover art is a direct representation of me - an unordinary saxophonist looking at something so close that it can be touched, but is really very far away.
It's one thing to hear a recording of me. However, it's another to see it performed. My ultimate goal is to get as many people to hear and see me play as physically possible - been a dream since birth. My true talent is performing; I decided that I won't be satisfied with anything less. My music is all about letting lose, having fun, relaxing, and enjoying as much as we can of this crazy place. |

Artist History
I first found the talent for music when I was the age of 8, when I would make small harmonies to Christmas carols on the piano. I took piano for about four years and began studying the saxophone in 6th grade, like most band students today. High school was a trip because it was when I first discovered a talent to improvise around a chord in a piece of music. And with this, I began scratching down compositional ideas based on the type of music I grew up around. My parents have always been crazy about the sound of the saxophone, and they watched a lot of VH1 when I was little. I have a very urban-style smooth jazz feel to my music. I made the ATSSB All-State band twice, 1st in the symphonic band my senior year, placed Outstanding Soloist at UIL, and placed in the region jazz bands in the Houston area. Basically, I am the little-above-average band nerd. I decided to take my talent to the next level and began studying at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, TX. However, I had to commute a very long way and I was totally homesick away from all of my friends. So, I went back to Hargrave High School in a small speck town of Huffman, TX, which is where I got my diploma. I was offered a music scholarship to attend Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX, which I am currently a music education/composition double major. |
