Artist description Illicit is a fresh, up and coming Brit hop emcee from Nottingham. Having been involved in hip-hop music for most of his life, whether it was playing it loud or performing at small venues, every small step was important. Writing his first lyrics at the age of thirteen and recording tracks soon after, it became an interest above everything else. Releasing a small compilation of 8 tracks recorded over instrumentals or remixing renowned tracks, got him small recognition from those around his area and let out the word. After generally positive feedback and soon getting a name for himself as a skilled emcee, Illicit set course. `Ill Natured' was soon being worked on. A well anticipated underground EP from a local rapper. This was to show even more people what he was about. As word got out, people were soon sending in demands for a copy from the listeners over in the US, to France and Germany. Hooking up with various DJs and performing small sets in bars around Nottingham, Illicit was slowly spreading his word. Practicing lyrics and microphone ciphers over various music genres, from preferred hip hop to garage and drum and bass. Having traveled and lived all around Europe, contacts from various countries has spread the word of Illicit even further. Still an unsigned artist, seeking producers and labels, Illicit is currently working on various tracks to be released to listeners on the internet. Internet listeners and local folk are greatly anticipating the release of his next album- "Prophecy" "I will always keep writing and performing as an emcee whenever I get the chance. Signed or not, its something I feel I have to do. Its who I am." -Illicit Being influenced by a wide range of different artists, Illicit keeps a wide eye open for any new talent. His major listened to lyricists include Jehst, Braintax, Taskforce, Eminem to Skinnyman and KRS-One. With british rap talent dominating his music choices, it is the scene he belongs to and strives to be a part of.
