Artist description Hank Guthrie was said to be a quiet, reserved farm boy with a college vocabulary. Although he only completed the 6th grade, he was an avid reader and had developed quite an extensive vocabulary over the years. This could often times alienate him from fellow musicians and western singers. But in the end, his easy-going manner always charmed, and those few who got to know him became loyal friends.
