    Artist History
If you were hoping for some long interesting story about us, your not likely to get it here, of all places. The story about how we came about is hardly even deserving of the title of a story. Either way, two kids (Adam Lee, Jeff Cravath) came together early freshmen year to create a new band. Ironically, I was not one of those kids, and sadly, the name was then Pee Your Pants. This new two person band was only in talks for a couple of weeks. I had one of the kids (Jeff) in my English class and soon heard about the idea for a band. At the time I heard about it, I was just slowly coming about to learn how to play guitar. I was entirely thrilled with the idea of being in a band, although I was just plain terrible at guitar at the time, so I pushed myself to work towards making it into the so called Pee Your Pants. Pretty soon, the other guitarist (Adam) agreed to help me out and show me some things on guitar. Of course we brought the bass player back (Jeff) and soon we started to become a band. Unfortunately, for whatever reason we decided to change the name to Jolly Rainbows, or actually, I didnt really take part in that decision. Realizing the name was terrible, we soon compiled a list of names. I had a few good ones written down, and Adam took one look at the list and came across one of the names, and twisted it around to his own liking, Against Texas. About this time, our then bass player (Jeff), started to flake on us and we decided we needed to get something more productive done with the time we wasted at practice, so we sided differences in a stupid way, and then it was just two guitar players for awhile. About this time, we enlisted a new drummer, after a failed attempt with one other drummer who just wasnt working out for us, our other friend Pat Partridge. The only slight problem was that he sucked. Bad. The other problem was that we had a show to play about two months later. We soon practiced our asses off, and even though we don't consider the party a huge success, or even a slight success, or even good enough to be deemed a travesty for that matter, it made us realize we needed to be working our asses off until they were disfigured and gross, and we sounded really good. It was a three piece band for a few months, but the entire band agreed we needed a bass player, and soon. So Adam decided that we should look to our friend Rob Williams for his help in that field. Rob has been part of the crew for a little length of time now, and he's deffinately made his own mark on the band. We had been practicing, not enough, but some, with Pat at his place, and due to the fact that he just wasn't quite ready to be in a band at this point and that practices were constantly having to be blown off, Rob and Adam suggested we enlist the help of freshmen drummer Ryan Mabee. We had one practice with him and there was deffinate chemistry between all of us playing. We welcome Ryan to the Against Texas crew and can now focus on being a band. And that my friends, is what they call history.
