Artist History
The project of the forming of a power-death band, devised during the years by Bras (guitar), Grifo (guitar), Mirko (voice) and Ellis (bass guitar), achieves its full concreteness in February 1997, with the admission of Alex at the drums (ex Putrefat).
That very moment, Zero Signal were born, and they revise with a new verve and vigour the work that they had realized the year before under the same name; not forgetting the good results of the past, the five are aiming at new targets, in order to get a real popularity.
The lyrics and the sounds that they present on the stage have truly ravaging effects. The audience isn't indifferent, nor is the independent new label "No Brain" that, in may 1997 offers a contract for the co-production of the first Zero Signal's demo tape "DOWN". The tape is distributed in October the same year.
The seven tracks succeed in expressing the aggressive tone that characterizes the group's concerts. The consequent period of promotion will see many performances in the most important clubs of Veneto. The good presence of audience shows a growing appreciation for the band. Their works is reviewed in "Metal Shock", "Metal Hammer", and in various fanzines with fairly good and encouraging views, that underline the violent feature of they music.
Among their main performances:
The taking-part in the "International tattoo and body piercing show" (February 1997), held at Padovafiere (with 99 posse, Fructeti, Flesh Terrorist, Remorse);
Many concerts at "New Age Club", in Roncade (TV), also as support of the Miskatonic University and of the Frastuono;
Concert at c.s. "Icaro" (July 1996) with "Tre allegri ragazzi morti" and "Punkreas"
No more interested and having some contrasts with the group, in September 1998, Ellis quits the band. A short time later, the guitarist Grifo decides to leave because of the excessive commitment (November 1998). Always less interested into the future of the group, after a short time, also Mirko abandons the two members left in December 1998.
Alex and Bras start looking for some new good members able to give more incisiveness and sound power to the band. After various changes, two new musicians start with them: first Ross (voice), then Soliman (bass guitar). This way the Zero Signal begin their live and studio activity again, and in November 1999, at the "No Brain" studio they record the song titled "Proud" that will be part of the first compilation of the label.
In 2001 the band releases its first miniCD "ZERO SIGNAL" (alma music / brusegan) including five new tracks through which Zero Signal improve the evolution of their sound.
