Artist description Japanese Pop with a New York Touch Rich Belmond Born in the heart of New York City, Richard was influenced by a combination of rock-n’-roll and rhythm and blues early on. These influences guided his desire to become an accomplished guitarist and a resourceful musical producer that can translate the energy of these raw yet detailed genres of music to create a unique but familiar sound. Richard developed a love for music when he was a teenager in Chelsea and he and two of his brothers formed a band that performed locally for several years. The Belmond Brothers later performed with a number of known musicians such as Denis Davis, a drummer who played with David Bowie. Richard’s individual musical background is versatile and it includes years of continuous experience with talented musicians and performers, including Madonna, in 1982. Richard also played with the well-known band Nightlines who recorded an album with some of his songs. His multifaceted experience has led him to be a seasoned musician with his own style, yet Richard’s undeniable skills have not altered his persona, one that is fun and enjoyable to work with. This year, Richard performed live with and recorded guitar tracks on a CD recently released by smooth jazz great, Nathan Dunkin. He also played guitar on a dance re-mix with Sheila E. for London release of 10 CC’s hit, “I’m not in love.” Yolee Born and raised in Ibaraki, Japan, 23-year-old Yolee aspires to share her unique soul-like voice with an audience that can appreciate world music presented in a new but still familiar format. Her musical influences include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Holly Cole and Billie Holiday and Erykah Badw, among others. While in Japan, Yolee was the lead singer for a soul and pop style band that performed in clubs and live houses in Ibaraki, near Tokyo.
