Artist description Santi Pierini is a singer-songwriter and guitarist whose music is primarily characterized as "alternative folk rock," though his songs span many musical genres, including alternative country, rock and blues. Though he has performed as a successful lead guitarist both in the studio and on stage for more than 20 years, Pierini now wants to be recognized for his songwriting. "Santi is one of the most talented muscians I've ever encountered, but the quality of his latest work signals the emergence of a talented new singer-songwriter with songs that blend captivating lyrical content with lush, intriguing melodies," said Evren Goknar, mastering engineer at Capitol Records. Pierini is currently producing his second CD, titled Three Days Later, as a follow-up to his debut, Nailed at the Crossroads. Three Days Later will be available in Spring 2003. Supporting promotional activities are currently being planned and include a CD release party in both L.A. and Austin, TX, in addition to a tour of the West Coast and the Southwest. With influences that range from Velvet Underground to John Prine, Pierini says that he is now most occupied by trying to "write the perfect song. A song whose lyric has the wit and depth of John Prine, with the melodies and guitar of Buffalo Springfield and the edge of Velvet Underground."
