Artist History
Kao Kyen is a 5-piece band from Kansas City, MO, performing various types of hardcore and metal.
Kao Kyen first formed in Fall of 2001, under the name of Dying Inside. The members at that time consisted of Mike Waters on vox, Chris Rosenthal on guitar, Dean Kirby on bass, and Caleb Williams on drums. They played a few shows, as the band began to progress.
They then recruited a second guitarist, Ryan Malony, and began the uprising of Kao Kyen. Soon after, Mike quit, so they were left with the burden to find a new vocalist.
They went through numerous vocalists, until they were satisfied with a guy named Luke. They then replaced bassist Dean Kirby with Lance. They played shows all around the Kansas City area, and some out of their local region. They recorded and released the self-titled ep that is out now. But, soon after, Luke and Lance decided to leave and join another band. Now they had to find new members to replace them.
They came across fans Adam Niederhauser and Brandon Bamesberger. They came out to audition, and the band was complete again.
The current line-up is what you see at the top of the page and in your face at all of the shows! |
