Artist description I, Phantwo, am a solo artist. This means I write, perform and record all of my songs alone. I am the bassist in a melodic punk band as well; this is merely a side project in which I play my own music instead of my lead singer's. I do this out of passion for music, not for approval. Most of my songs are slower punk songs that dip into alternative and emo, but sometimes I write faster pop punk songs as well as some third-wave ska songs. Most of my songs are about problems with friends and my thoughts and feelings about random things in life. I tend not to have very high self-esteem, and as a result I write a lot of self-deprecating songs, too. I have a fondness for poetic lyrics and really long songs, so it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone if I write a song with eloquent rhymes that make little to no sense and end up somewhere between four and eight minutes long. (However, please note that most of my songs are three to four minutes long. I've only written two or three that broke the six-minute mark, and I haven't recorded any of them, so no worries for downloading, yet.) I try to write songs with mood; the music only matters if it is either very, very appealing to the ear (read: "Phantwo's ear") or puts the listener into the mood I was in when I wrote the song. Keep that in mind when listening. I record all of my songs at home on my horrifically outdated classic iMac, using a very old multitrack recording program. Sometimes I use a drum machine for my drums since my drumset SUCKS. I don't have professional recording quality, but it's better than most home studios of my calibre (which is basically using all built-in hardware, so anyone could do it).
