Artist History Beginning in 1996 under the practically unpronounceable name of Azag Belia'al, Jason began writing and recording a number of instrumental "songs" with the intention of later remaking (or dissecting and reusing parts of) them in future, "full-band" sound. Over the course of the following 3 years, over 30 such "songs" were recorded, and shortly before the completion of the first of the re-recordings (APOPHRASZ) just following Milwaukee Metalfest XIV in mid-2000, Jason decided to change the name by which the project was to be known, adopting the first 2 words of the First Enochian Key, "Ol Sonuf," meaning, "I reign," seeing it as a slightly more appropriate name for a solo project.
