    Artist History
"Watching the Girls Go By" is the debut solo album from Jason LeVasseur. It is a collection of 11 original songs, carried by Jason's soulful voice and backed by distinctive musical performances. Jason is a versatile singer, songwriter, guitarist and drummer; "Watching The Girls Go By" is a showcase of his many talents. For the last few years Jason has been writing and recording with award-winning band Life in General. The duo was selected as one of Musician Magazine's "top 100 unsigned bands" in the country and was voted the National Association for Campus Activities' "Music Artist of The Year." Performing solo, Jason has shared the stage with the likes of the Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer and Vertical Horizon. The music Jason puts forth is both engaging and contemplative. The diverse compositions found on "Watching the Girls Go By" contain a spectrum of styles ranging from blues to sentimental ballad, straight-ahead rock to pensive pop. In Jason's music, smart lyrics mix with poignant arrangements to form a solid foundation of songs that blend memorable melodies and tight musicianship. Jason was born in the United States but spent most of his childhood in Mexico and Belgium, finally returning to the States for college, but not before studying French, Spanish and Italian for a year in Milan, Italy. Jason's world travels influence his playing style and his perspective on the world, allowing him to cross the line from roots/rock into world music. He can creatively weave a story and take the listener on a musical and emotional journey, giving sentimental touches in Spanish while rocking out like a true American. Jason is touring throughout 2002 in support of "Watching the Girls Go By." On stage radiating a dynamic and high-energy vibe, Jason embraces audiences with his unforgettable performance. He has put together an all-star band of musicians to help out at select shows on the tour, so don't miss a show, and don't miss the chance to hear his music.
