Artist description
The name "Lo-fi Honey" perfectly describes the band: good ideas can be conveyed on a low budget. While not truly 100% lo-fi in production, the two existing Lofihoney albums do show an affection for lo-res recording values like warm tape and fuzzy effects. Surreal songs with titles like 'Ghetto Blasted' are best conveyed in this low-res medium, giving the listener the feeling of being caught in the fray! Matt James, the band's front man and main songwriter, is a fanatic of trying to give the listener an experience. Elements of Pink Floydian dreaminess and futurism coupled with Dylan and Lennonesque lyrical imagery make the songs explorable on multiple listens. |

Artist History
Lofihoney was started in 1999 in Hamtramck MI. The first album, "Amplified Atmospheres" was completed in July of 2000. The album charted on a few college radio stations in the top 30. Since then Lofihoney has completed its second album in November 2002, entitled "Hush". The band believes this second album will illustrate a sharper definition of their sound. |
