    Artist History
Formed in 1986, the band consists of Vocalis/Guitarist/Songwriter Stefen Anthony, Vocalist/Guitarist Chris Schroeder, Vocalist/Keyboardist/Guitarist J.T. Walsh, Vocalist/Bass Guitarist Corey Schroeder, Vocalist/Drummer Rick Hurley...They have been playing the clubs and colleges in Canada and the USA for 17 years, 4 of the memebers are well sought after studio musicians, their style is their own and they can play any type of music from Hard Rock to Blues, all 5 members can sing and harmonize very well together, and their CD has every member singing a track. In 1990, they were offered a record contract from Priority Rocks Records in Hollywood,Ca, which they turned down as they did not get what they wanted, and that is control over their masters, they worked hard on the club circuit to make a name for themselves in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest of the USA. They did a U.S. club and college tour for 4 months, that was a success for them, and that is what brought them to the attention of Priority Records. Not wanting to change their style to the genere that was out, they kept their own style through the alternative, grunge, pop, metal, hardcore, stages of the music industry. They know that the music is the important thing and they have never compromised in that. TOMMY has also had some tragedy in the band, their original bass guitarist Marco Tambasco, died in 1992, he was the original bassist that Stefen, Rick, Chris new since grade 5, he was replaced with Chris's brother Corey, who fit right in with the band. Also, original Keyboardist/Guitarist Mike Gardner was killed tragically while recording in Los Angeles, he was Stefen's best friend as well as his co-writer/arranger, he was replaced by J.T. Walsh, who they found in a Journey cover band in Vancouver. After the death of Mike and filling their commitments, Stefen stopped playing music for almost 3 years, the death was hard on him being as Mike was his best friend since grade 5 and his co-writer, but later, he decided that Mike would not want him to quit and started writing and playing again. TOMMY had new found enthusiasm and the just wanted to concentrate on their music, live shows and what they wanted as a band, which was the music, as the important thing. They opened 6 shows for CREED, on their debut release in the pacific northwest of the States, that was brought on because Christ met lead singer Scott Stapp at the same studio where he was recording and where Creed was recording at the time, and it was Scott who asked for them to open for them, when their opening act could not do the shows because of health reasons, TOMMY filled in admirally, and they got along with Creed great, and they are friendswith them today, and would love to tour with them again. If you were to ask who their biggest help in this business was, they would say, Stefen's step-father, Clarence 'Big' Miller, who was a Jazz and Blues musician in Edmonton, and was pretty popular and had contacts with agents in the states, he himself an american, he got them to the next level and taught them both sides of the music business, and told them that it should be the music that matters the most, not the hype, and they kept that advice all these years, IT IS THE MUSIC. With their Producer/Manager Jon A. Zuk, they have put together a well rounded band, and have recently formed their own record label called Rock Steady Music Group, of which Rock Steady Records, Rock Steady Music and Rock Steady Productions are apart of it. They did this because of the beaurocracy of the record labels not signing deserving bands and because it gave them freedom to do the music that they wanted to do, without compromising. Stefen, J. T., and Rick have also gone out together as The Marvelous 3 to fill booking commitments if the others were not in town, and Stefen has gone out solo with other friends to do the same, his acoustic shows are great. They are a tight, well rounded band, and their songs are kicking tunes, straight ahead rock and roll. And they are the most down to earth musicians that you would want to meet, Stefen Anthony, the principle songwriter and vocalist is also a very good songwriter and producer, who has written some songs for his friend Michael Sweet (ex- Stryper), and others. TOMMY has opened for the likes of Creed, Our Lady Peace, Wild T and the Spirit, David Wilcox, Michael Sweet, NickleBack (early years),Christian rockers Petra, Amanda Marshall, Lee Aaron and some others. They have just recently Sept. 2002 played a Rockfest, and have played a Cornerstone festival, TOMMY's Live Sets include both electric and acoustic sets, and they have done several acoustic gigs as well, Going the Led Zeppelin route and make albums and tour when they want, has done them well, and also pulling a Zeppelin, by not including pics of band members in their CD's, they do have a logo that is used for their marquees. TOMMY has also played two radio station anniversary concerts. They have also recorded some of their songs for their forthcoming CD at Bryan Adams studio The Warehouse, in Vancouver, B.C. The bands motto is NO COMPROMISE... and it suites them well.
