Artist History
It all started in 1999 when Bucko and Yanks thought about starting a band. Bucko played bass, and Yanks played guitar. They found out that Dan Ellenwood plays drums so they started a band called Someone Else.
A little while after that DanE. realized that he was going to loose his hearing if he continued playing loud music. Then Girtie heard that Someone Else (which had not even played a song together once) was looking for a drummer. He asked us if we wanted to try practicing with him and we did. We liked the way things were sounding, but we decided to change our name to Widow's Offering.
With our new name Widow's offering came a new instrument. Bucko took up the 7-string guitar providing much heavier results. He still played bass ocassionally, but the 7-stringer was his main guit. We played about 5 shows as Widow's Offering and then realized that the name we had chosen was taken so we almost changed our name to Scarlet Veil, but then we said, "Forget it!" and just kept Widow's Offering. Then we found out that the name was not only taken, but copyrighted, so we pick the name the vital insignia.
Of course with the new name came a new instrument and a new face. This new face was Yurkie who plays full time bass giving Bucko the freedom to stick with 7-stringer and pull off some sweet vocals. the vital insignia is now a 4-piece band consisting of one guitarist/vocalist, one 7-stringer/vocalist, one bassist/ and one drummer. |
