Artist History fReEdOM SlAVE began conceptually almost 3 years ago, when I, the guitarist, was sitting in geometry. i was thinking about the public school system, and how i and everyone else in this class and my other classes was just being manipulated, from day one, to be cannon fodder for someones war. i thought about how we all struggle in jobs, in school, and in life, to maintain order, to maintian our freedoms. then it hit me. we are slaves to freedom. and thus, the name was born. freedomslave. i then enlisted the aid of some friends to start a small portland, oregon based band that would point out the flaws in our system, and the strength of the average person, whether this person knew they had it or not. the band didnt really go anywhere however till about a year later, where we all started getting really into it. now we are starting to do shows regularly in the portland music scene with such popular acts as Relent for No One, Fusion, Stonecreep, Third Man Out, and others. if you live in portland oregon, please come support us.
