Artist History
WellChild is a rock band from Nashville Tennessee. The history goes something like this: Hunter Briley, vocals, Matt Setzer, guitar, Dana Smith, drums and Cody Click, bass. They all went to high school together. They all liked the same kind of melodic rock music and decided to put a band together. Hunter worked with Chuck Arlund, guitar at the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville. Hunter asked Chuck to come listen to them practice. A short while later chuck joined the band. They played and recorded over the next couple of years, but as time approached the five guys decided to go their separate ways and went off to college and work. Cody and Dana for the most part stopped playing music and concentrated on their careers. Hunter spent time in New York and Los Angeles. Matt continued to play in Nashville and Chuck while almost moving to New York to continue with Hunter, found himself in another band in Kansas City where he met Mike Gless, bass. Eventually Hunter moved home to Nashville where he got in touch with Matt and Jason Williams, Manager. Chuck and Mike having broken apart from the band they were in decided to move to Nashville to regroup with Hunter and Matt. They decided to keep the name WellChild even though it is a new band. Some of the players are the same but the attitude and reasoning behind being in a band have changed. What had been high school fun has now become a lifestyle. |
