Artist description
Boy Tiger began in early spring of 2001. Armed only with a small drum kit and her commanding, pure-toned voice, songwriter Bethany Miller played several sparse, powerful sets in cafés and bars in Chico, California, seeming to revel in pouring out her heart to complete strangers.
In the summer of 2002, Skip Allums (of the quiet indie outfit Estereo, a transplant from Louisiana) joined Boy Tiger to provide lean and moody bass, keyboard, and guitar work.
Their minimalist arrangements provide for engaging and hauntingly beautiful sets, using driving and desperate melodies. Boy Tiger songs paint pictures of woe, desire, and strength through adversity.
