Film,& TV we would walk around with a small hand held micro cassette and get these great sounds which ended up being used on a lot of tracks.. Randy was very intested in combining traditional songwriting and using odd samples to create a surreal and almost film like sound. Producer Anthony Resta who has worked with us on a lot of tracks had been doing that kind of thing for a long time so the two of them just went crazy and it came out sounding very fresh.

Artist History Lyricist/ Vocalist, Randy Farmer and guitar player and composer John Mitchell originally signed with a small label in NYC as SIBERIA and released their only record with that label called "DAMAGE". A success at College radio, with over 350 stations playing the disk SIBERIA was received well by press and their live performances got a lot of attention. They made CMJ charts at 121 but never crossed over to commercial radio. "We then began working on a new record from home, changed our name to LOSTAR. A 4 track LO FI record got the interest of Pure management and began working with producer Anthony Resta which resulted in an intesting mixture of keyboards, samples, drum loops, and twangy guitars. Anthony (Collective Soul, Missing Persons, Shawn Mullins, Duran Duran) played live drums on some of the tracks and his keyboard and midi expertise is apparent throughout the recording." The record was originally supposed to be a demo and alot of it was done on 3 ADAT machines. Engineered by Karyadi Sutedja and Anthony and recorded in Anthony's studio in Mass. That disk is available now and we are selling it through the internet. Plans for new management and label are in the works.
