Artist History
Formed in 1997 by Ted Richardson (vocals, guitars, synths and samples), and signed to the independent label Milkboy Records, Hunkpapa wrote and produced it’s fledgling CD Organicmechanic. Although released as a way to attract a major record company, Hunkpapa, through Organicmechanic, quickly became a local favorite, along with gaining notice within the industry, selling thousands of units, and touring the east coast, with frequent bus trips to NYC.
With evolution comes change, and with change comes evolution. From 1998 thru 2000, Ted Richardson recorded and produced a vast catalog of material at his Philadelphia based studio, Pig Pen Recording. From this collection lie the forthcoming Hunkpapa CD, and the bands reformation into its current lineup.
