Artist History
The members of Green Machine have been together in various forms for almost 10 years. In 1990 Chris Avila formed the band Fiddlers Green, this band had various drummers and female singers for 2 years until Jeff Wagner settled on drums and Tina Simmons took over vocal duties .Fiddlers Green played over 100 gigs including the parking lot of an early Phish concert. Soon after that Wayne Powel was added on electric violin this incarnation of the band had audience participation drum circles and jams in there own underground scene until 1995 when the bass player moved and they disbanded to pursue other projects. Chris, Wayne, Jeff, and Tina played 2 gigs with a different bass player in 96. under the name CropCircles. They didn?t play together again until 1998 when Chris Jeff and Wayne.Hired Ted Nunes for bass and did one gig alone before bringing Tina in on vocals once again. This form of the band played 2 shows before Ted Quit Bass to pursue the guitar more seriously. At this point they held auditions for bass players but nobody fit the vibe they had worked on for so long. So Chris and Jeff asked Tina to pick up the bass. The rest is history the first rehearsal Tina Played and sang 3 songs. They played for a year as 4:23 releasing their first CD before changing the name to Green Machine and adding Johnny Balderas on Percussion adding a reggae vibe to the ecletic green machine sound. Green Machine is now working on building a larger following on the Internet. With there new websight greenmachine.nu,they have covered a large ammount of gound sine 2000 making a name for them sevs in sacramento, santa cruz and the central coast keep your eyes peeled fro gm shows in your area! |

Press Reviews
GREEN MACHINE DELIVERS AT EARTH JAMGreen Machine?s Music defies classification One fan describes them as GRATEFUL GRUNGE.Being together in various forms for almost 10 years they have created there own form of music, melting rough blend of Psychedelic Rock, Reggae and experimental music. With a strong emphasis on female vocals and long improvisational jamming their sound is truly unique The Morphing Rippling Guitar with crazy psychedelic fiddle and wild drums comes together in a soothing sometimes hard driving sound. Tina Simmons vocal?s recall the likes of Grace Slick and Janis Joplin but with an anger only a Central Valleycan cause . Her chilling vocals are rivaled only by her solid bass playing and command over the stage. At it?s best Green Machine is a feast for the eyes and ears. At it?s worst a band who?s members play from the heart not the ego. |
