Artist description
A guy and his synths. I wish I was a better salesman, but if I was I guess I wouldn't be a musician. Just take a listen to the songs and see if you like them. I do, and I'm very picky about music. |

Artist History
The "band" started in 1989 when I wrote a song for an ex-girlfriend, called "Beaker Full of Death" (The song, not the girlfriend). I took a tape of the track to a local Tucson DJ who played it on his show. As a result of that I got invited to play live at the inagural show of a Tucson club/art space called Dodjak (I think that's how it was spelled).
Since I only had one song at the time I declined, but then I was approached by Scott Benzel (who later formed Machines of Loving Grace). He was interested in putting on a show that was a mixture of performance art and music. He convinced me, and the first incarnation of Climate Control was born. At that first show we (among other things) threw ham and cheese at the audience, ate a bowl of Cap'n Crunch, and I was covered in mud and wore a jock strap.
Performances since then have been markedly calmer, with the exception of the second show. A solo performance where I tore cow intestines out of a mannequin.
I left Tucson in the early 90's to move to L.A., where I hooked up with a promoter who didn't understand my music at all. Subsequently he booked me into venues where the audience had no interest in listening to my music. I cleared 3 places out before I decided that I didn't want to do that any more.
I've been a recluse since then. |
