The first thing that will strike your mind when listening to the first track is that you're playing a King's Quest game. One of the ones that's more ambitious than simple midi. Of course, when the drum machine begins rolling around, and crashing like a trailer for Hunting For Red October, then you realize there's more to the cd. "All my music is written using a single synthesizer controlled by a computer sequencer on which I do all my composing." And he's had no formal music training beyond high school. He also wrote a storyline to accompany the instrumental music you'll hear, to give himself an audio experience to shoot for. Medieval, renaissance and fantasy are all rolled up in here, making it neato to people like me who listen to this stuff all the time when they aren't reviewing cds. It's good to write and do work to. And no, it's not noise. If I wanted noise, I'd turn on the air conditioner or Philip Glass. I suggest you give it a try, or at least poke around the homepage before you decide to buy, if you like movie music with a beat, and don't mind that the orchestra failed to show up.-Ben Ohmart
