Born and raised in Rutland, Vermont, Amy-Jayne brings to her music a sense of place and feeling of being connected to her roots.
Amy-Jayne began to develop her talent by performing in local and regional theatrical ensembles. When she was 17, Amy-Jayne became serious about a country music career after competing on Ed McMahon’s Star Search. In 1991, she opened for Emmylou Harris before a crowd of 4,000 plus. In December 1994, she was selected to be the featured performer for the lighting of the National Christmas Tree ceremony in Washington, D.C. In her 1995 performances at the Vermont State Fair, Amy-Jayne out drew such notable acts as Ray Price and Ronnie McDowell. At WJAN, Cat Country’s Country Music Jamboree in 1996, alongside Aaron Tippin and David Kersh, she entertained an audience of over 15,000. Her proven track record of crowd pleasing performances lead to repeat invitations to perform at the Vermont State Fair in 1996 and 1997, where her audience surpassed those for Johnny Paycheck and Pam Tillis.

In view of the demanding goals she has set for herself, it will come as no surprise when they are attained.
