    Artist History
Jonathan Lacey (vocals, guitar), founded former Warner (Giant) Records recording artist The Beautiful, whose John Fryer -produced record Storybook received critical acclaim in the 90's. Jonathan's didn't leave his consummate sense of sound-and-music-craft or his subversive reflexes in New York when he returned to Dallas after The Beautiful; he has maintained high standards in subsequent projects that have included bands like Garland, F.Bean, Jellyroll, the idiots & the Punk Rock Dinosaurs as well as producing and engineering a live country album (with Eleven Hundred Springs) and multi-media music/sound projects for both web and film. For Jonathan, Prince Jellyfish marks a return not only to the challenges of leading and playing a proper band, but also to the 2 fundamentals on which he has built his career: 1)Rock and 2)Roll. Gregg Prickett (guitar, backing vocals), wields his singular aesthetic like a weapon in Prince Jellyfish. His guitar resume includes Dallas favorites like The Buena Vistas, 39 Powers, and Sixty-Six, and he concurrently plays upright bass in the rough-and-ready popular swing-dance band Mr. Pink. He can be found in Oak Cliff eateries furiously pounding out charts and lead-sheets for his neo-Be Bop jazz band The Monks Of Saturnalia. This diverse and continuing musical experience and self-education yields an aggressive timbral sophistication that--along with Jonathan Lacey's familiar voice and well-honed but unusually crafted structures--helps define the core sound of Prince Jellyfish. Allan Hayslip (bass, backing vocals), came out of a two-year hibernation to join Jonathan in Dallas-punk revival band the Punk Rock Dinosaurs, and immediately joined spaghetti/surf/twang revival combo The Big Guns with fellow P'Saur Mike Haskins. He cut (and ground) his teeth for 11 years in the litigiously-named SPAM, then joined Vibrolux, Sixty-Six, Floor 13 and Sushi Gabor. As a former roommate and band mate (in F.Bean and an iteration of Garland), Allan is morphing his previously unschooled and stylized bass playing into a simple, disciplined, rock-hard foundation upon which Prince Jellyfish crafts it's sonically ambitious songs. Earl Darling (drums), came to Prince Jellyfish after a much needed sojourn in the world of family and day jobs. His previous experience was with acclaimed Dallas bands Spot, Jackopierce, and American Horse. His refined work on the first Prince Jellyfish recordings represents his efforts in helping the band through the initial development period. Earl continues to do gigs with Clay /, John Price, and Nope (among others), and will no doubt be performing more with Prince Jellyfish. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gregg Prickett (guitar, backing vocals), wields his singular aesthetic like a weapon in Prince Jellyfish.
