Artist description
An eclectic blend of everything we were ever influenced by. We are 3 doctoral students
in the department of psychology of the State University at Stony Brook. Surprisingly, our
indentured service usually allows for a weekly meeting of the mad scientists. When the
advisors are away the grads will play, and play we do. While we continue to
respectively try to understand how and why we produce speech errors, what
the utility of plasticity within the CA3 region of the hippocampus means, and what
the hell galanin really does, we will also occasionally experiment with the production
of spontaneous music free from form, boundaries, and rules. Skinner said there is
no freedom, but he ain't never got down with the 3MIAL!!! Every now and then the
3MIAL get down with two very cool bros and get our funk on as CHARLIE AND THE
PSYCHOUTS

Artist History
Chaz-man has been roaming the earth (like that dude in Kung-Fu) prior to his
pursuit of a Ph. D. His life experience comes out in his rhythms. Many times after
the jams when we contemplate life, he drops some heavy Buddhist philosophy.
Danny-Boy is new to the game. Tabula Rasa may be the best approach. He comes in to
the sessions unbiased and free from the yoke of a discipline learned by rote methodology.
David E is the result of 70's hard rock, 80's metal, the 90's melting pot, and some down
home Nawlins boogie. Together 3MIAL is more than the sum of our parts. Keep in
mind all the grooves are improvised, happening in the moment, within the very essence where
the present cascades into the past.
